NAIA’s Getting Worst

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA 1) also known as Manila International Airport was one of the busiest airports in the world, may I add that the airport was named after the late Binigno “Ninoy” Aquino who was assassinated at the airport in 1983.But nowadays if you hear the name NAIA 1 one thing will come into your mind is one of the worst airport in the world. As I see it on tv news the source of such info comes that NAIA 1 ranked 5^th in the World’s worst Airport for 20011. An airport review website,” The Guide to Sleeping in Airports”. NAIA 1 is in bad shape according to the passengers who had bad experience to that place. But in my own experience with my family when it is my first time to travel via airplane at NAIA terminal 1 four years ago it’s not yet bad. Although my only complaint at that place was the CR is not clean and some employees are not friendly. But it doesn’t show on the photos with my brother that you see on my page. That was four years back, now I can’t imagine how NAIA 1 looks like as foreign travelers try to avoid take a flight and landing to NAIA 1 because the service are lousy. For instance, there are no left luggage control no. and pay-in lounges for transit passengers. I even heard that there are some crimes happening around, like pick pocketing. Oh my god! I don’t think with all these accurate, NAIA 1 can still attract tourist in coming here to the Philippines. I’m not saying that we Filipinos are lousy. What I’m just saying is I think the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) must be alarmed. They must do something about it to rebuild the image of our local airport and bring back the glory years, because come on let’s face it. If we keep on getting negative comments from foreigners about our airport, what do you think well happen to our tourist? We will surely have a bad reputation to the world. This is an eye opener to all, and I hope that the Aquino administration should focus on this matter seriously. Let’s imagine seeing our airports full of travelers whose faces are excited to be here travelers who have good impressions towards our airports, and the best part of all NAIA 1 is no longer on the list of the World Worst Airports in the World. Let’s wait maybe on the next year are negative reputation maybe change to a positive.

Go Puerto!

I am proud and happy to say that our pride Puerto Princesa under Ground River (PPUR) in the island of Palawan got a chance to be nominated as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Lots of people show their support by voting online. I heard in the news and saw it in the website of New 7Wonders Foundation that result may change because of some pending recount of votes. Then the original result will be announced anytime next year. Well I hope our pride will maintain its status of being part of the Seven Wonders of the World. Because PPUR deserve to be well known. Now Puerto Princesa is accommodating lots of tourist nationwide from all over the world. Even our very own Pres. Nonoy Aquino was able to visit the place and see its beauty. I don’t have to explain why because we can all see the photo taken from the internet, and  the PPUR also have lots of animals inside that you can only see there like large group of birds 252 kind of species known to occur in Palawan, some notable birds that are being seen in PPUR are the blue-naped parrot (Tanygnathus lucionensis), Tabon scrub fowl (Megapodius cumunigii), hill myna (Gracula religiosa), Palawan hornbill (Anthracoceros marchei), white breasted sea eagle (Halitutus leucogates ) etc. There are some animals to in fact there are 30 mammals species that have been recorded.  Most often observed in the forest canopy and along the shoreline feeding during low tide is the long-tailed macaque (Macaca fascicularis), the only primate found in the area. Other mammal species in the park are the bearded pig (Sus barbatus), bearcat (Arctictis binturong), Palawan stink badger (Mydaus marchei) and the Palawan porcupine (Hystrix pumilus) etc. And if there’s a vertebrate and mammals of course there are also some reptiles were found living inside 19 species have been identified and some common reptiles in the area are the common reticulated python (Phython reticulatus), the monitor lizard (Varanus salvator) and the green crested lizard (Bronchocoela cristatella). Amphibian fauna include ten species. The Philippine woodland frog (Rana acanthi) is the most dominant and frequently encountered. One species, Barbourula busuangensis, endemic to Palawan was also observed in the area. And how can I forgot that famous bats that are commonly living inside a caves   Notable are the nine species of bats, two species of swiftlets and whip spider (Stygophrynus sp.) found in the cave, and the sea cow (Dugong dugon) and the hawksbill sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) that feed in the coastal area of the park. And may I say that inside the cave of PPUR there are a lots of limestone karst mountain landscape with an 8.2 kilometer navigable underground river. It includes major formations of stalactites and stalagmites that are shining like diamonds, and several large chambers. The lower portion of the river is subject to tidal influences.I that I will get a chance to visit PPUR and see it with my own eyes. Go Puerto Princesa Go Philippines  

Intensive

The Purpose of writing – up is to promote and call the attention of music lovers that there is a new band called ANTIMANO. Its members are Biboy Rempillo(Vocals/Guitar),Tati Abellanosa(Guitar),Pipo Estiko(Bass) and Allan Floralde(Drums). And their first song titled Beautiful burns. It has already its music video under the onechemistry film/wildlife Inc. produce by Christine Cerre – Dela Cruz and Zel Buena.

The production that made the music video comes to life are Director: EJ Salsedo, Asst. Director Costaṅeda;  Mac and Hazel Hernandez Editor; Alf Alicap prod. Designer; and  AnneVida Make – up artist.

The plot of the video was intensive and describes the modern society. At first maybe you won’t feel its intensity, but at curious to the writer of the song. But for me it is a good song, and you can easily relate with the lyrics. The ambiance of the music video is a mix of an old school and modern. But this is not advisable to be seen by teenagers or maybe they can just listen to it with their eyes close. Well I’m impressed as how the actress – Shane Santiguiel and Mercedes Cabral portrayed their role. Such made the video as if it is real and you can imagine that the way that their acting is really happening to some people, but no offence to some who are in a relationship like what they are portraying. The video was almost perfect it has titillating , lively, and it has a little bit of controversial  

One of our national Heroes

 When Nov. 30 always come the first person comes into our mind is one of our national hero Andres Bonifacio. I can still remember when I was still an elementary what we study about him. Actually I will not write anything that says about him being one of our national heroes because we already know his legacy.  I want to talk about his life with his family before he became our hero.

Andres Bonifacio was a founder and later Supremo ("supreme leader") of the Katipunan movement which sought the independence of the Philippines from Spanish colonial rule and started the Revolution. But after that being one of our heroes he was just an ordinary person who just had an ordinary life. Bonifacio was born November 30, 1863 and he was the eldest of five children. He was born and raised in Tondo Manila. His father Santiago Bonifacio was a tailor who served as a lieutenant mayor of Tondo while his mother Catalina de Castro worked at a cigarette factory. When Bonifacio was still in his young age he has no choice but to dropped out of school so he can support his siblings after both their parents died from illness.  He sold canes and paper fans he made himself and made posters for business firms. Bonifacio was also a part-time actor who performed in moro - moro plays. Not finishing his formal education, Bonifacio was self-educated. He read books about the French Revolution, biographies of the President of the United States, books about contemporary Philippine penal and civil codes, and novels such as Victor Hugo's Les Miserables, Eugene's Le Juif errant and Jose Rizal's Noli Metangere and El Filibusterismo. Aside from Tagalog and Spanish, he could speak a little English, learnt from his working for J.M. Fleming and Co. Bonifacio was married twice, first to a certain Monica who died of leprosy. He then married Gregoria de Jesus of Caloocan in 1893. They had one son who died in infancy. Bonifacio was a Fremason and a member of the Gran Oriente Español. In 1892 he joined Rizal's La Liga Filipina, an organisation which called for political reform in the colonial government of the Philippines. However, La Liga disbanded after only one meeting as Rizal was arrested and deported to Dapitan in Mindanao. Bonifacio, Apolinario Mabini and others revived La Liga in Rizal's absence and Bonifacio was active at organising local chapters in Manila. La Liga Filipina contributed moral and financial support to Propaganda Movement Filipino reformists in Spain.

So Amusing

The first place that comes out to my mind when someone ask me where to find the nearest and the lowest price amusement rides in Metro Manila is Star City.

  Star City is the oldest amusement rides here in the Philippines. The place began as a seasonal carnival during the Christmas Holiday season during the year of 1991, but since the management notice that the place is a big hit they made it permanent so the public can still go every day. The star city offers thrill rides and attractions for the whole family. These rides range from slow-moving choo-choo trains to the extreme Star Flyer, a rollercoaster that has claimed a life in the name of adrenaline rush.

  For those not into rides, the park has special sections dedicated to recreated worlds. The Dino Island (P100 entrance) aims to be a mini Jurassic Park, complete with hundreds of robotic dinosaurs that imitate the movements and sounds of the real thing. At the end of the dino tunnel is a small museum of prehistoric fossils, including what is said to be the skull of a Homo erectus and the skeletons of a 20-foot dinosaur. For those in for a scare fest, Star City has several horror houses, albeit lackluster for some guests. One is Egyptian themed, with frighteners costumed like mummies and dead pharaohs. Just across the park’s “Egypt” is the “Antarctic,” or the Snow World, that is. The temperature in Snow World (P100 entrance + rent for jackets, socks and mittens) drops below zero, enabling visitors to enjoy a piece of winter wonderland in tropical Manila. This section’s carved slides are a smash hit among children, allowing them to experience sledging amid a background of giant carved ice statues, ice castles and igloos. A special kind of camera, the one that can withstand extreme chill, is needed to take photos inside the exhibit.

  Near Star City’s entrance, there is a marked foyer leading to Aliw Theater, one of the oldest theaters in the country. Located just across the street from CCP, Aliw Theater offers free magic shows, acrobatics, ballets and other performances, especially during holidays. On the other side of Star City is Kart Track, a karting circuit catering to those who want to try go-karting (P250 per race, 12 minutes).

So what are you waiting for go and try to enjoy the place where you can enjoy with your family and friends.

Lucky and Unlucky Of Being A OFW

    Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) is called to the Filipinos who work abroad but if you ask me I do not see them as a worker I see them as our modern heroes, why? Because you see they work so hard even thought they are far from their families they need to explore to other country just for their family and make their lives better and that’s one thing that a Filipino has a love for their family they will do what it takes just to see them happy and wealthy, I say this because like other family who has a relative in abroad I have a brother who is currently working in a hotel in New Orleans with our other relatives, some Filipinos are lucky like they became famous, rich some even have their own business and some is given an award for being honest and for having a concern to their job just like Sharon Cuneta’s line in her movie Caregiver “I care about my job sir I care about you” and that somewhat a favorite line of some workers in abroad who’s dedicating their lives just to show to the country that their working that we Filipino’s are a hardworking people and that’s what makes us unique from other country, can you imagine we Filipinos are almost all over the world everywhere we go we Filipinos are easily adopt the others culture, but not all Filipinos are lucky in abroad some are ended up miserable like getting hurt by their employers some say they never get their complete salary and some are being abuse like rape, getting bit up and some are ended up dead, so its kind a scary  to go to some other country if we are not secure enough if that place is safe for them so if you plan to work abroad I think you should search or learn the place that you want to work so you can be safe and far from danger , and one of the ugliest and my brother told me is the one that is making some Filipinos ending up being deported is some Filipinos to and that is making me sad knowing that co-Filipinos are the one destroying their other Filipino co-worker and that’s what we call crab mentality they make other Filipinos fail from what they are good for, so if you are planning or thinking of working to another country please make sure that your intention of working there is good and always be care full.
